Dr. Bruce Santerre - Interim Principal

Bruce Santerre has most recently served as the interim director for the Perpich Arts High School in Golden Valley, Minnesota after retiring in 2006 as the principal of Northfield High School in Northfield, Minnesota. During his 34 years as an educator, he has served as teacher, coach, chemical health coordinator, dean of students, assistant principal, and principal in urban, suburban, and rural settings. He earned a BA from Augsburg College, a MS from St. Cloud State University, and an EdD from the University of St. Thomas in educational leadership.
His mission is to champion the health of public education through reform leading to institutional, professional, and personal wholeness. On a personal note, Santerre is married to Pam who worked in information systems and retired from the corporate world three years ago. She now works part-time as a pastoral minister at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Northfield. Pam and Bruce have two adult children, a daughter-in-law who is a Kennedy alum, and a handsome, 15-week old grandson |

Ms. Carol Kampa - Assistant Principal (Students A-Mam)

The 2009-10 school year marks her fourth year at Kennedy High School and the sixth year within the Bloomington School District. Ms. Kampa is excited about the upcoming year and the opportunity to work with the students and parents within the Kennedy learning community. Her responsibilities include serving the students with the last names A-Mam and working as the administrative lead for the following departments: Math, Language Arts, Special Education, ESL, and Counseling. In addition, she manages the state testing, ninth grade team, and staff development. She will continue to serve as the Director of the BEACON ALC and summer programs.
Ms. Kampa has been in education for 27 years, working first as a Physical Education/health teacher and basketball/track coach and then completing her masters degree and serving as high school counselor. Upon completion of her administrative leadership program, she worked as an administrator in New Berlin, Wisconsin and North St.Paul, Minnesota.

Mr. Roderick Wade - Assistant Principal (Students Man-Z)

Assistant Principal Roderick Wade comes to Kennedy with broad experience in student support and teamwork at Eagan and Rosemount high schools. The Eagan native worked at that high school as student activities director and administrative assistant to the principal after completing his student teaching. His background also includes supervision of special education, security procedures and diversity programs.
The Rosemount athletics director commended Wade for his "tireless work ethic, highly organized approach and a genuine concern for the students . . . ." He previously coordinated diversity programs and training at Storefront/Youth Action that served students in Kennedy, Jefferson and other suburban high schools.
"Kennedy has a strong focus on building relationships, which fits with his educational and leadership experiences," Wade said. "A sound relationship with their high school helps kids to feel comfortable, to grow up and set goals for their future," he said, adding that as students develop these skills teachers can do their jobs better too.
At Kennedy, Wade's responsibilities include master schedule, teacher evaluation, department supervision, attendance, discipline and athletics. The former head girls basketball coach at Eagan and at Rosemount high schools, Wade also played Division I college basketball and in the CBA. |

Ms. Kristin Krenz - Activities Director

Ms. Krenz has been the Dean of Students (2 years), Assistant Principal and is excited about serving Kennedy in her new role as the Activities Director. She hopes this will allow her to contribute even more to our school and community. "Kennedy has such wonderful staff and students and I am thrilled to continue to be a part of this school and community. I look forward to all of the success Kennedy will continue to have now and in the future."
Previously, Krenz served as the interim assistant principal, physical education/health teacher, DAPE teacher and athletic trainer at North St. Paul High School. Krenz finished her administrative degree at the University of St. Thomas and holds a Master's and Bachelor's from the University of Minnesota. Krenz also worked with the University of Minnesota athletic department and the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx. |

Mr. Kevin Chederquist - Dean of Students (Students A-Mam); Webmaster

As Dean of Students, Mr. Chederquist will be involved with discipline and attendance issues, Kennedy Connect, Positively! Kennedy, student government, graduation and the school website. He is cofacilitating the Early College High School Initiative between Kennedy High School and Hennepin Technical College.
Chederquist is not new to the Kennedy learning community as he has been a Kennedy technology education teacher, dean of students, and media director. After completing his BA in Industrial Technology Education from the University of Northern Iowa, he taught 7-12 industrial technology in Bondurant, IA. He started his masters degree at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden as a Rotary Scholar and then finished the degree in Educational Administration at St. Mary's University of Minnesota. During that time he taught at vocational/technical high school in Buffalo, MN and Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, MN. He completed his Educational Administration degree from St. Mary's University.
Chederquist has been a strong proponent of student activities as he has coordinated and advised the student leadership development organization, SkillsUSA, coached speech, and assistant coached nordic skiing. Mr. Bill Batterman - Dean of Students (Students Mam-Z)

Mr. Batterman has been teaching Physical Science, Chemistry, AP Chemistry and Forensic Science in the metro area for the past 13 years. He has coached football, baseball, volleyball, wrestling, tennis and debate. This year he is serving Kennedy as a Dean of Students. He is a graduate of Hamline University where he earned a B.A. in chemistry and lettered in both football and tennis. He earned his M.A. in Education and completed the K-12 administrative licensure program at St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
As Dean of Students, Mr. Batterman will be involved with discipline and attendance issues, Kennedy Connect, conferences, dances, NHS, and Team Time. In addition to those duties he will maintain the Kennedy Excels program. He believes that Kennedy has something to offer each student and encourages all students to get involved in as many sports, clubs, and activities as they can! |
