Assistant Principal Roderick Wade comes to Kennedy with broad experience in student support and teamwork at Eagan and Rosemount high schools. The Eagan native worked at that high school as student activities director and administrative assistant to the principal after completing his student teaching.  His background also includes supervision of special education, security procedures and diversity programs.

The Rosemount athletics director commended Wade for his "tireless work ethic, highly organized approach and a genuine concern for the students . .  . ."  He previously coordinated diversity programs and training at Storefront/Youth Action that served students in Kennedy, Jefferson and other suburban high schools.

"Kennedy has a strong focus on building relationships, which fits with his educational and leadership experiences," Wade said.  "A sound relationship with their high school helps kids to feel comfortable, to grow up and set goals for their future," he said, adding that as students develop these skills teachers can do their jobs better too.
