2009-10 Teacher of Excellence Recognition Program
Purpose: 1) To identify teachers who exemplify the quality teaching that occurs at Kennedy High School based on the domains used in Charlotte Danielson’s Enhancing Student Achievement. 2) To publicly celebrate the work of the teacher through promotion in staff meetings, website, bulletin board, and TV broadcast
Protocol: Nominations will be requested on a monthly basis from students, teachers, and parents via website and TV broadcast. The administrative team will determine the recipient who will receive a certificate, letter, and gift at the first staff meeting of the month. Each month will have a different focus based on the Danielson domains:
October: Planning and Preparation
November: The Classroom Environment
December: Instruction
January: Professional Responsibilities
February: Use of Student Assessment
March: Planning and Preparation
April: The Classroom Environment
May: Instruction
Action Items:
1) Dean of Students will be responsible for promoting and accepting nominations via mail, web, and voice mail.
2) Admin Team will make choice the last week of the month
3) Media Director will promote the award winner on the available media |
