Jefferson High's Signorelli earns National Board Certification
Pam Signorelli, an art teacher at Bloomington's Jefferson High School, recently became one of 12 Minnesota teachers to achieve a National Board Certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
National Board Certification is a voluntary assessment program designed to recognize and reward great teachers, and is the most prestigious credential a teacher can earn. Certification is achieved through a rigorous, performance-based assessment that typically takes one to three years to complete.
Signorelli becomes the sixth teacher in the Bloomington Public Schools to achieve the NBCT. Others and their schools are Janet Cruse and Tracy Vermilyea, Hillcrest Community School; Margie Dahl and Jackie Preston, Normandale Hills and Ridgeview elementary schools respectively, and Barb Dullaghan, a district gifted and talented teacher.
