School Board begins Superintendent Search
The Bloomington Board of Education began the search for a new Superintendent of Schools recently by requesting proposals from national search firm consultants.
The Bloomington School District will hire a consultant to conduct a national search for the new leader. Search consultants are expected to submit proposals by Jan. 20. The School Board expects to select the successful firm by Feb. 6.
Extensive involvement of School District staff, parents and community groups is planned, said Mark Hibbs, Bloomington School Board Chair. A timeline for staff and community involvement will be announced after the consultant firm is selected.
Dr. Gary Prest announced his retirement in December after nine years in the position. His retirement is effective June 30.
