Bloomington Schools complies with wrestling moratorium
Bloomington Public Schools is complying with a statewide moratorium for the high school
wrestling season until Feb. 6 and a Kennedy High School wrestling match was rescheduled
for Feb. 9.
"The Bloomington Public School District is in full compliance with the Minnesota State
High School League's moratorium on the wrestling season announced Tuesday,
Jan. 30," said Ted Schultz, Bloomington Athletic Director. "Wrestlers across the State
are to have no contact in practice and all competitions are canceled through Tuesday,
Feb. 6. At this time, in Bloomington, there are no confirmed cases connected to the State
outbreak of Herpes Gladiatorum that was a result of a tournament in Rochester, Minn.
Dec. 29 -30."
Bloomington Kennedy's match at Apple Valley scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1, was moved
to Friday, Feb. 9. Bloomington Kennedy currently is 7-0 in Lake Conference matches.
Jefferson High School did not have a match scheduled during this moratorium.
