Normandale Hills students earn perfect scores in national math competition
June 5, 2009
Haley Pinette and William Titus, second grade students at
Bloomington’s Normandale Hills Elementary School, have been named National Student Leaders in the Continental Mathematics League competition.
Pinette and Titus are two of 27-second grade students in the U.S. to receive a perfect score on all three meets. National Student Leaders are named when a perfect score is achieved in all competing meets. Normandale Hill’s Christina Donley teaches both students.
Continental Mathematics League is a national problem solving
competition for public and private schools. Students from over
250 schools across the country participated in this year’s competition.
“This is a big achievement,” said Barbara Dullaghan, the District’s elementary gifted and talented coordinator. “Very few students have won this award in the school district’s history.”
