Kennedy senior awarded $10K engineering scholarship

Bloomington Kennedy High School senior, Matt Huber, has been awarded the 2009 Lockheed Martin Foundation Engineers in the Classroom scholarship. Huber is the only student in the state to receive the scholarship this year.
The $10,000 scholarship, administered by Project Lead The Way, is awarded to a high school senior interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering through any U.S. college. Huber plans to attend Iowa State University in the Fall.

help address the country’s growing need for technical talent. Under the program, Lockheed Martin partners with schools that have a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) pre-engineering curriculum.
Bloomington Public Schools is a PLTW district using the standards-based pre-engineering and technology curriculum in its middle and high schools. The District has partnered with Lockheed Martin’s Engineers in the Classroom initiative since May 2008.
