Kennedy Theater Company presents ‘Les Miserables’

The Kennedy Theater Company presents its fall musical “Les Miserables.”  Performances will take place Thursday, Oct. 26 to Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Kennedy High School auditorium.

“Les Miserables” is a legendary musical based on the classic Victor Hugo novel of 19th century France.  It is a story of love, courage, and redemption that follows the life of Jean Valjean, beginning in 1815 when he is condemned to hard labor for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his family. He is released on parole, but finds nothing but hatred and suspicion directed toward him.  When Jean Valjean meets a man who believes in him, he breaks his parole to begin a new life.  His new life includes the adoption of the orphan Cosette, encounters with the thieving Thenardiers, and student rebels.  Throughout the years, the righteous police inspector Javert pursues Jean Valjean.

“Les Miserables” features some of the most challenging and popular music in the Broadway repertoire.  The Kennedy production features Erik Krohg as Jean Valjean, Peter Fourniea as Javert, Hannah Holman as Cosette, and Erik George as Marius.

Dohn Thibault directs the production with vocal direction by Niccole Goulet and choreography by Risa Cohen.  Andrew Bast directs the orchestra.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.  Tickets purchased in advance are reserved seating. General admission tickets will be sold at the door. Kennedy High School is located at 9701 Nicollet Avenue South, Bloomington.
