The Office of Research and Evaluation is responsible for the administration, scoring and analysis of all district and state wide tests. The information that is obtained from these assessments is used by teachers, administrators, and parents to help them better understand how students in Bloomington are learning important skills in Reading, Mathematics and Writing.
One especially useful tool is our dynamic search page that allows you to see test results, demographic information and parent survey results at the district or school level. The results can also be viewed by current year or as trends over time. Click here to access this page or click on one for the appropriate lines to the left. Each report also includes helpful hints about intrepreting the information.
Our
mission is to collect meaningful information, report it in
a timely way, and communicate the results in a clear and
helpful style. The information on this site and the links
to other Research and Evaluation sites are intended to
meet that goal. We would like to hear from you about
this site and the information it contains. |

About
our Student Testing System...
The
Bloomington Public Schools measure the academic growth
of each student in Grades 2 through 7 with the Northwest Evaluation
Association's Achievement Level Tests (CALT) in Reading and
Mathematics. These computerized tests are given annually
to monitor the progress of individual students through
the district's curriculum. The tests also enable
teachers to pinpoint any problem areas and adjust instruction
to meet the needs of the student or class. Click here to see a description of the test content for CALT.
