Custodian donates $10,000 to Early Childhood Family Center
Portion of estate donated to extend legacy of mother

Bloomington’s Pond Early Childhood Family Center received $10,000 from a member of its custodial staff as a donation from part of his late mother’s estate.
Alan Lambert made the donation as part of his mother's legacy. Albina Lambert, who passed away last year, and her son shared a passion for the work of the Pond Center's staff. The donation will be used to support the Pond Center's preschool programs, which assist children who may be at risk for school achievement.
Kay Miller, Early Childhood Family Center Coordinator, works with Lambert regularly and was amazed by the amount donated, but felt the gift aligned with his character.
“He’s a very passionate person,” said Miller. "And he has our students' best interests at heart."
Last May, Lambert and his wife, Ione, hosted a fundraiser for the Pond Center after he made the donation in an effort to celebrate giving and encourage philanthropy in others.
